We have seen some big changes here at Animal Aid East Gippsland over the past few years, and have continued to kick goals with adoptions. This would not have been achievable without the help and support from our fantastic volunteers. As a relatively small facility, that has to serve such a large slice of Victoria, our job is a significant one.

We are grateful for our road to rescue which is Coldstream, but our aim is to rehome as many of our surrendered and unclaimed animals back into our own community as possible.

We really appreciate the hard work and time our volunteers at the Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance Opportunity shops have given us. These people have donated their skills and determination to raise much needed funds for the shelter.

Animal Aid East Gippsland pride ourselves on the fantastic relationship we share with the community. With help from the public we will succeed in getting companion animals into new forever homes.

Over the last 12months we have seen great new structures added to the facility such as our cattery exercise area labeled “kitty wonderland” and our outside run for cats in our holding area. We now have a newer and larger exercise area for dogs, this enables these pound pooches to exercise and have fun, whilst staying here at the shelter. We could not have completed these amazing areas without the help and support of our volunteers and the community. All staff and animals would like to share a huge thank you to all who helped making these dreams possible. Animal Aid are looking forward to working with the community towards the goal of responsible pet ownership and increasing the number of companion animals adopted from, and the awareness of, the Animal Aid Shelter in Bairnsdale.
