Yarra Valley local, Dr Vogt, will lead the team of four vets at Animal Aid Veterinary Clinic, which treats more than 10,000 animals each year. Dr Vogt first began her association with Animal Aid as a vet student while she was completing her tertiary qualifications. After nearly five years at a busy mixed practice near Sheffield, in the United Kingdom, Dr Vogt joined the team at Animal Aid in 2009 as a part time veterinarian. Over the last 12 months, Dr Vogt has been Animal Aid's veterinary media spokesperson on Channel 7 Sunrise with topics changing from pet nutrition, healthcare to Sampson, the overweight Labrador. According to Dr Vogt, she loves the challenges and diversity that the Animal Aid Vet Clinic has to offer and is looking forward to leading the team of Veterinarians into the future. "It is such a privilege to be involved with an organisation that plays a pivotal role in all aspects of animal welfare and sheltering ," she said. "It is also very satisfying to be able to treat surrendered or abandoned animals, and give them the second chance they deserve. "Through Animal Aid, I will be able to continue to develop and practise my professional passions of surgery, preventative health care and shelter medicine." |
