The talented entertainer has officially become "A Friend of Animal Aid" where she will join fellow Australian entertainer and TV host, Myf Warhurst, along with Australian opera singers, Suzanne Johnston and Tiffany Speight to help promote the Victorian animal shelter. Known for her dry wit and effervescent on air presence both on TV and radio, Meshel has appeared on a number of Australian TV shows including The Project, Rove Live, The Glass House, Spicks and Specks and Can of Worms. Meshel currently co-hosts Nova's national Drive show, 'Meshel, Tim and Marty' and also appears on The Circle on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Meshel's addictive humour and dynamic performances has catapulted the native Queenslander to stardom, making her a much loved and admired all-round entertainer. Meshel, her husband Adrian and two year old twins, Louis and Dali, are avid pet lovers, who have two dogs named Brittany and BJ and a cat named Cosmo. According to Meshel, there was an instant connection with the shelter and the staff when she spent some time at Animal Aid in Coldstream late last year. "I have always loved animals and to see the staff in action at the shelter makes me want to be part of it," she said. "I am thrilled to be part of an organisation that has the welfare of our companion animals as their top priority. Animal Aid is simply dedicated to the wellbeing, safety and happiness for all these beautiful creatures. "We will make a great team." According to Animal Aid General Manager, Nell Thompson, having Meshel Laurie on board as an Animal Aid Ambassador, is a huge coup for the not for profit, non-government funded animal welfare organisation. "As Animal Aid continues to grow and flourish, we hope that Meshel can assist us in reaching out to more Australians and help us spread the word on our work," she said. |
